Replying to a question asked by PPP MPA Humera Alwani, Minister for Environment and Alternative Energy Askari Taqvi said that the Federal Ministry for Environment is drafting a law, which would allow the production of plastic bags using biodegradable material only.

Units with a capacity of 1, 2, 5 and 10 tonnes per day would be ideal for the urban local bodies in the country. These units can also be made to work in the rural areas for handling agro-waste.
