NGT Southern Bench directs that the Sirumugai Panchayat shall obtain necessary “authorisation” from the appropriate authorities within three months and shall remove all the Solid Waste dumped in the S.F.No.148/2 and 189/2 and shall not dump the solid waste in open space or burn solid waste.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Subhas Datta Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 27/10/2017 regarding arsenic contaminated areas in West Bengal. Subhas Datta the Applicant has filed an affidavit highlighting the specific arsenic contaminated areas for conducting survey on the plight of the people living there and names of some experts, which is ordered to be taken on record.

The Commissioner of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation, Special Secretary of Urban Development and officers of Fire Department gave assurance to the Court that steps would be taken up to ensure that none of the landfill sites in Delhi do not catch or are put on fire in future.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rear Admiral AP Revi IN (Retd.) Vs. Delhi Jal Board & Others dated 26/10/2017 regarding use of fresh water for gardening purpose in Vasant Kunj area of Delhi. NGT passes direction that DDA/MCD shall ensure that DJB shall supply treated sewage water for gardening at the fixed rate which will be the primary responsibility of the public authority. The residents, DDA/MCD and DJB are prohibited to use fresh water for gardening purpose.
