Greater Noida: The widening of GT Road NH-91, a project of six-lane highway from Ghaziabad to Aligarh via Bulandshahr, will cost the felling of shady trees planted on the both sides of the road at the time of Emperor Sher Shah Suri.

About 19,000 trees will be cut for the purpose.

A road diversion on the Una-Amb road near Jhalera village that is being constructed by Longjian, a Chinese company, was washed away after rain yesterday evening.

The washed away diversion has established the fears being expressed by farmers of the area.
