KOLKATA, 27 Sept: The state government today declared Jalpaiguri and Bankura as e-district after the chief minister inaugurated the project through which citizens can get various services through online submission of forms and delivery of certificates.
The chief minister, Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, inaugurated the citizen service kiosks through video-conferencing.

BHUBANESWAR: Even after three decades of its launch, the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) in Orissa is yet to achieve half of its nutritional objective.
As per the latest report, the nutritional status of only 47.33 per cent children under ICDS are detected as normal as on December 31, 2009.
India has 8.1 million children out of school, 41.6 per cent of its population lives below the poverty line, the maternal mortality rate is 450 per 1,00,000 live births and merely 16 per cent of its labour force has received formal education till the secondary level.
