Constant efforts are being undertaken to increase milk production in the state. The implementation of Acharya Vidyasagar Go-Samvardhan Yojana is being undertaken under the 11th Five-Year Plan on the recommendations of Rajya Samanya Nirdhan Varg Kalyan Ayog by five regional Dairy Federations.

The rural people, especially women, in Rewa division are becoming more inclined towards dairy development. This can be gauged by the fact that over six thousand women have formed 172 women's dairy cooperative societies in the division.
These dairy societies collect milk and then sell it to Jabalpur Dairy Federation.

As a part of efforts of Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation for enhancing milk production, 15,000 mini kits are being distributed among milk producer farmers free of cost during rabi season under the Centre's mini kit testing programme.

Production of green fodder will be possible in about 2,500 acres of land after distribution of these kits, an official release said here today.
