Sixty private and cooperative dairies in Maharashtra have decided to increase the selling price of milk by 3/litre from February 16. The cow milk price will go up from 26/litre to 29/litre while the buffalo variety will go up from 33/litre to 36/litre. Amul, Mahanand and Gowardhan will take a call prices on Monday. Maharashtra dairies had raised milk prices by 1/litre only last month.

Constant efforts are being made to increase milk production in Bundelkhand by the MP State Cooperative Dairy Federation. So far, the federation has constituted 120 milk cooperatives in the region since July 2010. Three thousand 565 members of these cooperatives are collecting six thousand 124 litres of milk on an average daily. The members have collected 3 lakh 63 thousand litres of milk so far.

Dubai: A group of Arab researchers is claiming to have developed a medical formula for treating cancer by using camel's milk and urine.

Researchers at Arab Biotechnology Company (ABC) have said experiments conducted on mice have proved to be 100 % successful.

LUCKNOW: In a welcome first, officials of the department of food and drug administration will now conduct door-to-door purity tests on milk and milk products in residential colonies in the state capital and across the state.
