Pune If rains continue to stay away from the catchment areas, the water for Pune city will last around 20 days. The water storage in Panshet, Khadakwasla, Temghar and Warasgaon dams have dipped to a low of 0.9 TMC. Irrigation officials say such a delay in rains over dam sites and catchment areas was last observed in 1982, more than 27 years ago.

Pune The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has issued notices to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to come up with multiple sites to address the issue of garbage dumping in Uruli Devachi and Phursungi villages. However, the PMC is yet to discuss the issue with the district collector.

Although District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar had called on a meeting on Thursday to address the water woes in different areas, many feel that it was too late a step, as the monsoon is just a week away.

A member from Velhe taluka said that the administration took up the issue very late.
