Geomorphologically, the mighty Brahmaputra River system flows over the Quaternary sediments. This is a cause of concern because of its location in an abundant monsoon regime within an active seismogenic volume. Since time immemorial, the Brahmaputra has continued to wreck havoc through repeated floods year after year.

Remote sensing techniques are essential to boost the dwindling fish catches in the country, as they can be used to identify potential fishing zones and the traditional fishermen and others can be guided to make fishing more profitable, according to Dr B. Meena Kumari, the Director of the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT).

Laboratory reflectance spectra of 18 rock samples from the Precambrian basement of north east of Hajjah were measured and analyzed using the instrument of FieldSpec3 with spectral range 0.250-2.500um. The aim of this study is to use the spectral reflectance of rocks for mapping the mineral resources in the north east of Hajjah.

Watershed management plays a vital role in water resources engineering. Watershed based on water resources management is necessary to plan and conserve the available resources.

Invasive species have been the focus of environmentalists due to their undesired impact on the ecosystem. Spread of Lantana (Lantana camara L.), an invasive plant species, has been found in diverse geophysical environments causing a threat to the native flora.

This article deals with the demarcation of palaeochannels and mapping of integrated water resources in parts of Hisar district, Haryana using Indian Remote Sensing Satellite (IRS-1D) LISS-III Data of December 21, 2001. The ground water prospects of various geomorphic units have been assessed. Depth to water level and ground water quality maps were digitised and put in to GIS format.

The knowledge of the surface temperature is important to a range of issues and themese in earth sciences central to urban climatology, global environmental change and human-environment interactions.

Studies of chronic health effects due to exposures to particulate matter with aerodynamic diameters ? 2.5 ?m (PM2.5) are often limited by sparse measurements. Satellite aerosol remote sensing data may be used to extend PM2.5 ground networks to cover a much larger area.
