The students of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication branches of Canara Engineering College have developed a solar powered tribrid two-wheeler named V-Spark-3, which will be inaugurated by the District- in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar on August 20.

Speaking to the presspersons on Wednesday, Electrical and Electronics Department Head Prof T N Shanbogh said

The state of Madhya Pradesh plans to provide solar power to 425 villages by the end of the 2010 financial year, and has plans to generate 200MW of power through solar energy by 2013, suggest reports.

The state is developing a full infrastructure solar park in the village of Ganeshpura, Gujarat, on 300 acres of land.

New Delhi: State-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) is planning to set up a Rs 650-crore wind power project in Rajasthan and solar power projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan, minister of state for petroleum and natural gas Jitin Prasada told Lok Sabha on Thursday.

Along with use of conventional resources, other sources like solar, wind, biomass, under-ground energy will also be tapped for increasing power production in the state. LUCKNOW: In a major step towards energy conservation, the North Eastern Railway (NER) has decided to run its three offices of divisional railway managers (DRMs) on solar power. General manager UCD Shreni announced here on Wednesday that DRM offices of Lucknow, Izzatnagar and Varanasi would switch over to solar power from March 2011 onwards.
