There are 80 service reservoirs in the city where water is brought from the source and stored before being supplied to the citizens.

May 7: The biological analysis of water samples from Bholakpur revealed abnormal presence of E.coli which is found in human faeces.
According to health experts, water that has high E.coli content is unfit for human consumption. In all, seven persons have died and 300 others were hospitalised after drinking contaminated water supplied through pipelines in Bholakpur.

May 5: An irate mob attacked the MP, Mr Anjan Kumar Yadav, and Water Board officials at Bholakpur on Tuesday after six persons of the area died of consuming contaminated water.
Police had to use force to disperse the agitating residents and the human rights commission sought a report from the concerned officials.
