Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of Vardhaman Kaushik Vs. Union of India & Ors. dated 12/08/2015 regarding rising air pollution in Delhi especially with reference to diesel vehicles.

The Order states that there will be no change to its earlier order. However, till disposal of the application which is pending, it is for the State to challan diesel vehicle or not so as to prevent complete non-supply of essential articles to the City of Delhi.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of Vardhaman Kaushik Vs. Union of India & Ors. dated 14/07/2015 regarding growing air pollution in the entire NCT, Delhi.

The Tribunal also directed all the Corporations, Forests Department, NOIDA Authority, NCT Delhi, Ghaziabad Development Authority, State of Uttar Pradesh and State of Haryana to file a complete status report in relation to implementation of the directions issued by the Tribunal for checking the pollution caused by dust and burning of different materials.

NGT has ordered for complete ban on burning of waste in open including garbage, leaves, plastic and crop residues and said that violators will be fined Rs. 5,000.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of Vardhaman Kaushik Vs. Union of India & Ors dated 17/04/2015 regarding rising air pollution in Delhi.

The Tribunal also directed the DPCC and CPCB to inspect all the major projects in Delhi i.e., Indraprasthra, Badarpur and Rajghat Thermal Power Station and/or any other major project of this nature, which has high air emission.

Considering request of the Delhi government, NGT has stayed for two weeks its order  to impound old diesel vehicles plying in the capital city for more than 10 years. The green tribunal also sought suggestions from the state government on providing incentives to those transferring/scrapping old, polluting diesel vehicles and on fixing a cap on the number of vehicles to be registered in the capital.

The Tribunal noted that if the stake holders carry out the development activity in fragrent violation as to the principal of sustainable development the results can be disastrous. Where construction activity is one of the very significant facet of development there it is one of the serious contributor of air pollution by generating dust.

The National Green Tribunal has banned all diesel vehicles which are more than 10 years old and said that they will not be permitted to ply in Delhi. Read text of this 9-page order issued on 07 April 2015.
