NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday launched a youth portal under the Bhagidari scheme of the Delhi Government for channelising the energy of the youth towards the 11-point agenda of development envisaged for the Capital city by her.

Speaking at the launch, Ms. Dikshit said the portal will prove to be an effective bridge between young people and policy makers.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan, the residence of the country's first citizen, has become the country's first-ever urban habitat to receive the ISO 14001:2004 certification-granted today by UK's Bureau Veritas in view of the various standardised environment management practices adopted by the President's Estate.

NEW DELHI: On a day when President Pratibha Patil completed three years in office, Rashtrapati Bhavan was presented with an International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 14001:2004 Certificate for having emerged as the country's first urban habitat with excellent environmental management systems.

Dhanbad, July 18: After presenting an action plan for pollution control in Dhanbad last week, members of the expert panel are now working overnight to prepare a revised blueprint.

The revised plan is being prepared according to the suggestions of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). It will be submitted by the end of this month.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India, will get an ISO: 14001 certification as the international auditors from Bureau Veritas (BVQI) have wrapped up their auditing. They will be awarding the certificate by the end of this week. A film on the entire process of implementation of the benchmarks of ISO: 14001 is also underway.
