NEW DELHI: The Commonwealth Games Organising Committee on Tuesday said that elaborate arrangements for waste management and cleaning were in place at all the Games venues, including the Games Village.

The Organising Committee has engaged three vendors for primary collection of waste estimated at 163.2 tonnes per day. The vendors have been selected through a global open tender process.

KOCHI: In a boost to its agenda to give a new look to the city through better  suburban rail, water, roads and other facilities, the Kochi Corporation has received the approval for its master plan from the Local Self-Government Department.

The draft plan, incorporating the best available solutions, will take the city to the level of other popular cities in the country.
