The newly elected Mayor has expressed apprehension about the three landfill sites of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) as they are already full beyond their capacity.

KOCHI: Ever since waste disposal became a serious problem in the city, organisations have worked to offer solutions in their own way. Plan@Earth, the NGO working for the environment, partnered with ITC Ltd to launch a solid paper waste collection programme in Kochi last year. The project called WOW (Wealth Out of Waste) was launched in the city last year.

New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has earned carbon credits worth Rs 5 lakh against net carbon emission reduction (CER) achieved by making Okhla compost plan functional. This makes MCD the first civic agency in the country that has earned carbon credits.

Udupi CMC is planning to purchase 1,000 buckets to be distributed among households, so that wastes can be segregated from the source, said CMC Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak.
