Hyderabad, Aug. 25 The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to develop four regional greenfield airports under the public-private participation (PPP) mode.

To be taken up under the build, own and transfer (BOT) model, these airports are proposed at Orvakal (Kurnool district), Jakranpalli (Nizamabad), Ramgundem (Karimnagar) and Tadepalligudem (West Godavari).

Andhra Pradesh is facing a drought-like situation this year. The state had been receiving good rainfall ever since YSR Reddy became Chief Minister for the first term in June 2004. In his second term now, the Chief Minister is now thinking of declaring a drought in case the state does not receive sufficient rainfall by August 15.

Rajahmundry, Nov. 25: The state government issued an order declaring Papikonda Wildlife Sanctuary as a National Park recently. The government issued GO No. 144 declaring the wildlife sanctuary as a national park to be developed in an area covering about 1,012.85 square kilometres.
