PANJIM: Goa Legislative Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which is assessing the quantum of illegal ore that has been mined in the state, has issued notices to 46 mining companies for extracting iron ore without complying with environmental norms.

All 46 companies have been asked to submit the clarification as to why no objection certificates (NOCs) were not obtained from the forest department before extracting the ore.
