We conducted a cross-sectional study among 188 tribal children aged 6-59

Decline in malnutrition levels has been dismal since the 1990s. We ascertained decadal trend in childhood nutritional status between 1997 and 2007 in Chandigarh, India and assessed impact of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) on childhood undernutrition.

We read with interest the recent article by Murki, et al. on impact of cephalosporins restriction on incidence of extended spectrum b-lactamases (ESBLs) producing gram negative bacteria. Antibiotics restriction and their cycling are no doubt proven strategies to limit emergence of resistant microbial flora, provided they are employed judiciously.

This study was conducted to document the prevalence of obesity, overweight and underweight in the school children aged 5 to 16 years from Mysore. 5 Principal Investigators and 13 Co-Investigators trained the teachers of 139 schools. A total of 43152 school children (23527 boys and 19625 girls) were surveyed.

Keeping in view the recent flooding of the Indian market with antibiotic and probiotic combinations, the authors decided to
look at the prevalence of antibiotic associated diarrhea (AAD) and Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) in children and
reviewed evidence available for use of probiotics in the prevention of AAD.

The assessment of growth is crucial in child care and reference data are central to growth monitoring. As the pattern of growth of a population changes with time it is recommended that references be updated regularly. The objective of this study was to produce contemporary growth curves for Indian children from 5-18 years for height, weight and BMI.

Growth curves are an essential tool in pediatric practice. Their value resides in helping to determine the degree to which physiological needs for growth and development are being met during the important childhood period. However, their usefulness goes far beyond assessing children

Immunization programs are the cornerstone of public health, world over. Vaccination was practiced in India since the early 1900s, especially against small pox, in late 1940's. A National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) was set up in 2003, and a Midterm Strategic Plan (MTSP) developed in 2004. From April 2005, immunization is an important component of RCH II under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). (Editorial)
