This paper presents authentication and quality evaluation of stem bark of Saraca asoca (Roxb.) Wilde, officially considered as 'Ashoka', in comparison with stem barks of S. declinata Linn and Polyalthia longifolia Benth, which are also known as 'Ashoka'. S asoka is an important indigenous drugs for treatment of various female disorders.

This study presents comparative TLC of ethanol extract of plants, Euphorbia hirta L. (Euphorbiaceae) and Gomphrena celosioides Mart. (Amaranthaceae) and formulation (E. hirta + G. celosioides, 4:1) was compared with some of the available homeopathic drugs for piles.

This study presents adsorption performances for Carbamazepine, Propyphenazone and Sulfamethoxazole using polymer resin, Lewatit VP OC 1163. Adsorption capacities followed: Carbamazepine>Sulfamethoxazole>Propyphenazone. Lewatit VP OC 1163 showed a larger adsorption for pharmaceuticals having low solubility, with Freundlich adsorption parameter, Kf, reaching 46.068 for Carbamazepine.

Present work proposes a methodology to predict ground vibrations induced by blast in opencast mine. Proposed methodology showed substantial improvement over artificial neural networks and multiple linear regression.

This study determines influence of thermal insulation on conductive heat transfer through roof-ceiling construction when thermal insulation material was integrated to roofing system.

This study presents decolorization of textile azo dye, Orange II, by white rot fungus, Phanerochaete chrysosporium. Orange II (85%) was removed in 7 days (optimum decolorization on 5th day at 28-30

This paper examines different sources of dust generation and quantifies dust emission rates from different point, area and line sources considering background dust concentration at one of the Opencast Coal Project (OCP) of Western Coalfields Limited.

This paper estimates personal exposure to particulate matter (PM), deposition and status of selected toxic metals in respiratory tract washout samples obtained from 20 humans residing in township of an industrial environment in central India.

Use of earthworm species to biodegrade various substrates (industrial wastes, agricultural residues, etc.) for composting has proven to be successful after initial stabilization of vermi beds. This study presents optimization of vermi beds (soil + cowdung) for culturing of earthworms (Eisenia fetida, Eudrilus eugeniae, and Megascolex megascolex.).

The paper reports the studies on evaluation of energy indices of domestic refrigerators of 165 L capacity in India. The specific energy consumption varies between 3.23 and 4.19 kWh/y/L for single door manual defrost units and between 3.84 and 4.78 kWh/y/L for double door auto defrost units. The major technical areas in a modernization programme are the use of alternatives to HCFC 22, the introduction of more efficient controls and better insulation.
