In the present investigation photocatalytic degradation of an antibiotic rifabutin in aqueous solution with TiO2 as photocatalyst has been investigated under UV irradiation. The efficiency of degradation was quantified by several parameters such as effect of initial concentration, catalyst loading, pH and addition of H2O2 as a co-oxidant. The effect of operational parameters on the decolourisation and degradation under UV irradiation in TiO2 suspension has been investigated to find out the optimum conditions.

The disposal of bottom ash in the thermal power plant is a challenging task. The objective of the present study was to investigate the leaching characteristics of the bottom ash disposed in ash pond of thermal power plants. The studies were conducted with bottom ashes from ash disposal system. A series of leaching test have been performed with different liquid to solid ratio (L/S). The (L/S) varies from 20:1 to 60:1. It is observed that the elements of Mn, Mg, Cr, Zn, Ni, and Cu are most abundant elements while Pb, Mo, Fe and Co are the least abundant elements.

The main objective of this paper is to develop a three phase genetic algorithm to find the shortest path routing in solar poweredWireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), and thereby reducing the energy loss and the time consumed in the communication between various nodes (sensors) of the same. A three phase hybrid genetic algorithm is proposed for solving the shortest Path (SP) routing problem. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared with Dijkstra, Munemoto, and Ahn algorithms.

Energy efficiency improvement is an eternal topic in the limited energy sources world. This paper analyzes the relationship between energy efficiency and energy price by using the panel data from ten economic giant. The results show that increasing energy price can promote energy efficiency improvement. If the energy price increases 10%, the energy intensity per unit of GDP could reduce 1%. Compared with other economic giant, the energy price of China is obvious low which is the main reason of China's low energy efficiency.

Antibiotics have been considered emerging pollutants due to their continuous input and persistence in the aquatic ecosystem. The present paper addresses the degradation and removal processes applied to a specific class of micropollutants, the antibiotic tetracycline (TETRA). Photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline in aqueous suspensions of titanium dioxide in the presence of titanium dioxide (TiO2) and ultraviolet (UV) illumination was performed in a vertical circulating photocatalytic reactor. The optimum catalyst concentration was about 0.1g/L.

Agro wastes such as carrot peel, onion peel, potato peel and sugar beet peel are products subjected to saccharification process by Penicillium sp. for the hydrolysis, this process was followed by the fermentation using yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae for the production of alcohol which was fermented at 14, 21, 28 days to produce alcohol. The aim of the study was to determine alcohol content of fermented agro wastes based on different fermentation time. The fermented product was purified by primary distillation process at 780C and the fraction was collected.

The injection timing variation has a robust effect on emission formation in direct combustion diesel engine with thermal barrier coating. The piston head and cylinder were coated with Zirconium at 40 micron thickness. Low Heat Rejection (LHR) engine has high heat with standing capacity inside the combustion chamber, so the in-cylinder temperature is very high in part load and full load condition, which leads to increase the NOX emission.

This paper presents viability study of integrated renewable power system for telecommunication applications. Rapid depletion of fossil fuel resources necessitated research on alternative energy sources. A wind solar integrated system is a reliable alternative energy source because it uses solar energy combined with wind energy to create a stand-alone power system. Incremental Conductance and Fuzzy Logic Maximum Power Point Tracking is proposed in this paper for solar and wind power system to provide a constant voltage with the help of DC-DC Single-Ended Primary-Inductance Converter.

Increasing the cost of fuels, growing concern of global warming and increasing demand of electrical energy, a compact, less polluting and efficient gas turbine power plant with regenerator and a suitable Waste Heat Recovery Steam Generator (WHRSG) presents a very attractive concept. Developments in metallurgical sciences, protective coatings and cooling methods have provided the options to design the components and a higher Turbine Inlet Temperature (TIT) may be achievable in near future.

Punjab being a major agricultural state of India produces main crops such as paddy, wheat, pulses, barley, cotton, maize, arhar, mustard, rapeseed, sesamum, sugarcane and ground nut. Presently about half of the crop residue is being utilized for local needs like food for animals, home fuel and thatching materials. Remaining crop residue is being burnt in the field causing national energy loss, environment pollution and decreasing the land fertility. The annual production of total crop residue is 29.46 MT and total unused crop residue as 14.53 MT.
