The Delhi Statement on Cooperation in Environment by ministers of environment belonging to member states of SAARC at the meeting in New Delhi on 20th October 2009. The ministers have agreed on specific joint actions to further strengthen environmental governance, biodiversity conservation, and climate change cooperation.

Mr Jairam Ramesh, India's Environment Minister, and Mr. Xie Zhenhua, Vice-Chairman and Minister of China's National Development and Reform Commission, signed an agreement to enhance cooperation on climate change between the two countries. They also agreed to continue coordinating their respective positions in the lead up to Copenhagen.
