KOCHI: Giving fresh hopes for opening up a new corridor to the city, the state government on Wednesday sanctioned Rs25 crore for acquiring land for the widening of Thammanam-Pulleppady Road. The first road in the city to be renovated under the detailed town planning (DTP) scheme, the Thammanam-Pulleppady stretch will open a parallel corridor to the city similar to Edappally-High Court and Sahodaran Ayyappan Roads.

Recognising the threat of non-communicable diseases and lifestyle diseases tipping the balance of the State's health parameters, the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) - Kerala would be rolling out lifestyle clinics across the State to provide easy access to medical treatment.
