Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gurmail Singh Vs State of Punjab & Others dated 11/09/2020.

The proceedings were for execution of order August 5, 2019 in 492/2019. Vide NGT order of March 4, 2020, a factual and action taken report was sought from the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) with reference to the allegation of non-removal of dirty sludge and sewage water from the residential area at village Kot Khurd, Jalandhar, Punjab.

Report by Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) in Execution Application No. 10/2020 in Original Application No. 492/2019 in the matter of Gurmail Singh Vs State of Punjab. An application was filed by one Gurmail Singh of village Kot Khurd, Jalandhar complaining that the entire waste water/effluent of the village was being discharged directly into the pond, adjacent to his house. The officer of the Panchayati Raj Department has said that the pond near the complainant's house was quite old and Gurmail Singh had constructed his house thereafter near the pond.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ram Singh & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 14/08/2020.

Grievance in this application was that illegal mining and stone crushing was taking place in Block Majri situated in S.A.S Nagar, District Mohali, Punjab.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 10/08/2020. The matter related to steps taken by the state of Punjab to control air pollution.

An affidavit was filed in the SC on behalf of state of Punjab and with respect to it the court asked for clarification and submission of a report.

The proceedings in the matter were initiated on a grievance put forward by the Punjab Dyers Association that payment of amount as per applicable scheme for setting up of 50 MLD common effluent treatment plant (CETP) project for dyeing units at Tajpur-Roan Road were not being made by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and the state of Punjab.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Virendra Kumar Vs State of Punjab dated 02/07/2020 regarding illegal operation of brick kilns in Fazilka and Mukatsar Districts of Punjab with the collusion of a Government Officer.

Inspection report of Trident Complex of M/s Trident Limited, Mansa Road, Village-Dhaula, District Barnala, Punjab. This was in pursuance to the NGT order of December 4, 2019 in the matter of O.A. No. 689 of 2019 in the matter of Beant Singh Bajwa Vs State of Punjab & Others. The NGT had called for a fresh, independent and comprehensive inspection report from the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) to ascertain the factual situation especially on extraction of groundwater by the unit.
