Huge funds of Rs 56 billion have been earmarked for disbursement as compensation among the victims of the under-construction gigantic project of raising the country second biggest Mangla dam.

At a mahapanchayat held in Ronija village, farmers from about 30 villages have served one-week notice to Yamuna Expressway Authority on their seven-point demands. The farmers said if their demands were not met within a week, they would not allow the construction work on Yamuna Expressway to proceed.
