The Applicant (Dr. Irfan Ahmad) has brought to our notice that the municipal solid waste is scattered all over the city till today. There is no proper mechanism in place for collection, segregation, transportation and dumping of the waste.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vivek Kamboj & Others Vs. Union of India & Others dated 22/01/2016 regarding dumping of waste in Gurgaon, Haryana.

NGT in its order restrained HUDA and Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon from dumping any waste in any green area or, infact, at any place other than the sites identified for dumping of waste. Both these organizations would also show cause why the Environmental Compensation in terms of Section 16 & 17 of National Green Tribunal, Act 2010 be not imposed upon them.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gaurav Jain Vs. State of Punjab & Ors. dated 20/01/2016 regarding municipal solid waste management for the State of Punjab.

State of Punjab would place on record the progress in relation to 8 clusters dealing with the municipal solid waste for the entire state.

Site selection shall be completed by the next date of hearing. Complete details of the plant which is treating Bio-medical Waste with video-graphs should be filed before the Tribunal by the Respondents (Bareilly Development Authority and Bareilly Municipal Corporation)

The paper reports on a systematic review research process to determine the enabling factors for waste pickers to operate in the informal economy in South Africa. Twenty-eight South African journal articles, theses and position and policy papers were sourced and appraised. The results indicate that recognition of the waste pickers in the waste system is the most enabling factor for them to operate. The concept of recognition is analysed, described and explained as assisting waste pickers to become more visible, having a voice and to be validated.
