Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vivek Kamboj & Others Vs. Union of India & Others dated 22/01/2016 regarding dumping of waste in Gurgaon, Haryana.

NGT in its order restrained HUDA and Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon from dumping any waste in any green area or, infact, at any place other than the sites identified for dumping of waste. Both these organizations would also show cause why the Environmental Compensation in terms of Section 16 & 17 of National Green Tribunal, Act 2010 be not imposed upon them.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gaurav Jain Vs. State of Punjab & Ors. dated 20/01/2016 regarding municipal solid waste management for the State of Punjab.

State of Punjab would place on record the progress in relation to 8 clusters dealing with the municipal solid waste for the entire state. 

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Nadeem Iqbal Vs. Nagar Nigam, Bareilly & Ors. dated 07/01/2016 regarding collection, transportation and disposal of Municipal Solid Wastes as well as Bio-medical Waste.

Site selection shall be completed by the next date of hearing. Complete details of the plant which is treating Bio-medical Waste with video-graphs should be filed before the Tribunal by the Respondents (Bareilly Development Authority and Bareilly Municipal Corporation)

The paper reports on a systematic review research process to determine the enabling factors for waste pickers to operate in the informal economy in South Africa. Twenty-eight South African journal articles, theses and position and policy papers were sourced and appraised. The results indicate that recognition of the waste pickers in the waste system is the most enabling factor for them to operate. The concept of recognition is analysed, described and explained as assisting waste pickers to become more visible, having a voice and to be validated.

The civic authorities constructed a waste-to-energy plant at the site to dispose waste and check pollution, but the plant is far from being operational.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sukhdev Vihar Residents Welfare Association & Ors. Vs. State of NCT of Delhi & Ors. dated 17/12/2015 regarding waste to energy plants at Bawana and Gazipur.

National Green Tribunal constituted a team to visit the three waste to energy plants and also the thermal plants at Badarpur and Rajghat. They shall report as to the steps that are required to be taken to ensure that waste to energy plant at Gazipuar and Bawana could be made operational without any further loss of time.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Davinder Kumar Vs. Union of India & Ors. dated 16/12/2015 regarding open dumping of municipal solid waste and other waste to prevent methane emission.

To curb the growing air pollution in Delhi, Supreme Court on Dec 16, 2015 banned registration of diesel cars with engine capacity over 2000 cc engine till March 31, 2016. The apex court also said that all commercial vehicles, including trucks, which are not Delhi-bound, will not be allowed to enter the city through entry points NH-8 and NH-1.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gole Park Nikat Niwasi Kalyan Vs. State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 15/12/2015 regarding maintenance, perseveration and protection of Gole Park, Sector 3, Rajender Nagar, Sahibabaad Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh and seeks relief directing removal of the encroachment and restoration of the damaged Gole Park in the present case.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Kashinath Jairam Shetye & Others Vs M/S Shilpi Constructions & Others dated 14/12/2015 regarding authorization granted to MSW project by Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) on 21.1.2014.

Main grievance of the Applicants is that large number of Mangroves and trees are removed/cut down from the area.
