Pune: The regional office of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has disbursed Rs 7,348.39 crore for agriculture and rural development across the state.

The amount — which is 22% higher than the previous year — has been allotted for the financial year 2012-13. M V Ashok, chief general manager of Nabard regional office, said, “Nabard has also decided to converge the watershed development projects with Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS).

The work of the Rs.200 crore worth projects funded by the National Bank for Rural Development (NABARD) aimed at infrastructure development in the endosuflan-affected localities in the district will be inaugurated at Bovikkanam near here on April 5.

The function would be inaugurated by Social Welfare Minister M.K. Muneer and Agriculture Minister K. P. Mohanan, P. Karunakaran, MP, said at a prèss conference here on Tuesday.

Check dams will be constructed on various water bodies in the district for conservation of water, District Panchayat President K.V. Dasan has said.

Addressing a district-level seminar on water conservation organised jointly by various departments and local bodies here on Wednesday he said the dams would be constructed in co-operation with the gram panchayats.

BHOPAL: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has pumped Rs 7,881 crores during 2012-13 into the state's rural economy to boost crop production, capital formation and improving rural infrastructure, according to a release.

NABARD boosted the rural economy through financial support to banks for ensuring enhanced crop loans, investment credit and creation of rural infrastructure by the state through RIDF funding support.

The total financial assistance for agriculture and rural development activities in Chhattisgarh touched Rs 4388 crore in the recently concluded financial year. "This showed an increase of 256 per cent over the last fiscal's Rs 1231 crore," NABARD Chief General Manager Sunil Kumar Bansal said.

Lion’s share of credit earmarked for agriculture, allied activities in PLP

Itanagar: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has prepared a Focus Paper for Arunachal Pradesh envisaging a credit outlay of Rs 314.56 crore for ‘priority sector’ during the financial year 2013–14.

The paper which was released here yesterday by chief secretary H K Paliwal, was prepared with a medium term perspective with special focus on the critical interventions required under each sector during the XIIth Plan period and will form the basis for the credit planning process of banks in the State, NABARD general manager P Radhakrishnan informed.

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has estimated the prioritised resource requirement for critical infrastructure needs at Rs 8,098.19 crore for Karnataka during the 12th Plan period. Nabard has adopted the theme "Critical Rural Infrastructure for agriculture and rural development" for 2013-14.

According to Nabard, the critical infrastructure is defined as that infrastructure, which if created, will support increased credit flow under agriculture and benefit a large number of people.
