About 90 kilometres from Pune, Salungan village in Bhor taluka has a population of about 300 people. Add to this the families living in the 35 villages surrounding the area, and the total population easily crosses a few thousands. Yet, there are no medical facilities to speak of, with the nearest health centre being at least 35 kilometres away.
