Based on monitoring under National Air Quality Monitoring Programme during 2011-2015, Four (04) cities are identified as non-attainment cities with respect to NO2 and Ninety Four (94) cities identified as non-attainment cities with respect to Particulate Matter (PM10). State-wise details of Administrative Districts Chronically affected by Drought Conditions, as per Manual for Drought Management 2009, are indicated at Annexure-I. Memoranda received from States and details of funds approved from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) in the wake of drought, during the years 2013-14, 2014-15 & 2015-16, are indicated in the statement at Annexure-II.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Encroachment on Forest Land, 26/07/2016. The State-wise details of forest area encroached as reported by State Governments is given in Annexure-I. Funds are released to State Governments under the schemes namely National Afforestation Programme (NAP) and Green India Mission (GIM) for the purpose of increasing the forest cover in the Country. The Ministry supplements the efforts of the States/UTs in protection and management of forests through Centrally Sponsored Scheme namely Intensification of Forest Management Scheme (IFMS).

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Crop Insurance Scheme, 26/07/2016. Prior to current Kharif season i.e. Kharif 2016 season National Crop Insurance Programme (NCIP) with three component schemes namely, Modified National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (MNAIS), Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (WBCIS) and Coconut Palm Insurance Scheme (CPIS) alongwith National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (NAIS) were under implementation in the country.

Question raised in Rajya Sabha on Untreated sewage flow into river Yamuna, 25/07/2016. As per the assessment made by Central Pollution Control Board in 2015, about 61948 MLD of sewage is generated in the country as against the developed sewage treatment capacity of 23277 MLD. The balance of around 37000 MLD untreated sewage is discharged directly either to water bodies or land. State-wise details are provided at Annexure-I.

Question raised in Rajya Sabha on Status of proposals for setting up power projects, 25/07/2016. During the last three years and the current year (since April 2013), 12 DPRs of Hydro Electric Projects (Schemes) have been received in CEA for concurrence/appraisal. Question raised in Rajya Sabha on Problem of fluoride contamination in drinking water in Himachal Pradesh, 25/07/2016. As reported by the States into the online Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) of the Ministry, as on 20/7/2016, the problem of excess fluoride in rural drinking water sources is reported by 17 States in 13,949 habitations and the State-wise number of fluoride affected habitations is annexed.

Question raised in Rajya Sabha on Population of wild animals, 25/07/2016. Population of tigers in tiger reserves, inter alia, including that for Kanha Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh, as per Status of Tigers, Co-predators and Prey in India, 2014 is at Annexure-I. Tiger mortality, as reported by States, during last year and current year, is at Annexure-II. The Government of India through the National Tiger Conservation Authority has taken a number of initiatives for conservation and protection of tiger and other wild animals. The same are at Annexure-III.
