Question raised in Lok Sabha on Review of Mid Day Meal Scheme, 18/07/2016. Under Mid Day Meal Scheme, hot cooked meals are provided to 10.03 crore children in 11.50 lakh institutions on every working day of the school. Despite this scale of operations, only 95 complaints of misappropriation/corruption have been received during the last three years. State-wise number of such complaints is annexed.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Child Labour, 18/07/2016. The number of main workers in the age group of 5-14 years in the country is 43.53 lakh as per 2011 Census which shows a decline from 2001 Census. The number of main workers in the age group of 5 to 14 years as per 2011 Census, State-wise is given at Annexure. The occupational sector wise data is not available from 2011 Census.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Unemployment, 18/07/2016. As per the result of two most recent labour force survey on employment and unemployment conducted by National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, the estimated unemployed persons on usual status basis during 2009-10 was 0.95 crore which has increased to 1.06 crore during 2011-12. The state wise unemployment rates are at Annex.

Demographic details of Scheduled Tribes as per Census 2011 are available in public domain on the website of the Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India. Question raised in Rajya Sabha on National Wetland Conservation Programme, 18/07/2016. 115 wetlands in 24 States and two Union Territories are identified for conservation and management under the NWCP. The State-wise/year-wise list of these wetlands is given in Annexure-I. The State Governments undertake activities for conservation and management of wetlands funded under NWCP/NPCA through its concerned agencies. The Ministry and the State Level Steering Committees monitor the implementation/execution of the programme.

Question raised in Rajya Sabha on Goals of NAP and GIM, 18/07/2016. The two major Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs), of this Ministry namely National Afforestation Programme (NAP) Scheme and the Green India Mission (GIM) are being implemented in participatory mode under Joint Forest Management (JFM) approach. The objective of the National Afforestation Programme scheme is regeneration of degraded forests by institutionalizing decentralized forest management. Under NAP, an area of over 2.1 million hectares has been sanctioned for afforestation with an investment of about Rs.

Question raised in Rajya Sabha on Electrification of Villages, 18/07/2016. There were 18,452 un-electrified villages in the country as on 01.04.2015, out of which 8888 are electrified as on the 15th July, 2016. State-wise details are given at Annexure. The remaining villages are mostly located in difficult terrains, forest areas, remote locations etc. The electrification of all the remaining villages is targeted by May, 2018.

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has set out to produce comprehensive, reliable data sets on renewable energy capacity and use worldwide. The 2016 Renewable Energy Statistics Yearbook shows data sets on renewable power-generation capacity for 2006-2015, renewable power generation for 2006-2014 and renewable energy balances for 100 countries and areas for 2013 and 2014. Further, it features statistics on investments in renewable energies from 18 major multi-lateral, bilateral and national development financial institutions presented for the period 2009-2014.

The World Bioenergy Association (WBA) is pleased to publish the 3rd Global Bioenergy Statistics report. The report shows that bioenergy is growing at a steady pace. In the year 2013, global biomass supply increased to 57.7 EJ accounting for 10% of the global energy supply. In terms of final energy consumption, the bioenergy use increased by 1.23 EJ – a modest increase of 0.05% over the past year. The share of bioenergy in final energy was 13.9%. The share of renewables was steady at 18.3% and the slow pace of growth is unsettling. Renewables contribution in electricity was 22%.
