Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Jayant Kumar Vs Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change & Others dated 07/12/2022.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) was directed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), December 7, 2022 to collect information regarding mining leases in which environmental clearance was granted by the District Environment Impact Assessment Authority (DEIAA) and the period of which has not yet expired.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT), December 7 directed submission of an action plan by the Director, Mining and Geology Directorate, Madhya Pradesh, DFO and District Magistrate, Shivpuri on illegal stone mining in forest area of Mohangarh.

Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board (CECB) in its report to the NGT said that there are a total of 167 industries and they are categorized into 17 types of polluting industries.
