The State of the Climate report series is the authoritative annual summary of the global climate. Published in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, the report is edited by scientists at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information.

Worldwide, 2012 was among the 10 warmest years on record according to this 2012 State of the Climate report released by the American Meteorological Society (AMS).

This new report released by NOAA looks at extreme weather events that occurred in 2011 & finds 2011 among the 15 warmest since records began in late 1800. Shows human fingerprints identified in more than 2 dozen climate indicators examined by 378 scientists from 48 countries.
