LUCKNOW: Heated controversy over the dwindling numbers of tigers in Dudhwa will shortly be put to rest, The Wildlife Institute of India is preparing to commence a new tiger census in Uttar Pradesh to make a correct assessment of the big cat family.

LUCKNOW: Epidemiological studies show that 1-2% of the total Indian population is a carrier of Hepatitis B. This makes a large chunk of these carriers vulnerable to cirrhosis and cancers of liver. LUCKNOW: After tasting success in elevating the health standards of the state through Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers, state government will appoint women to take care of state's livestock. Designated as Ladies Livestock Link Worker (LLLW), they will be operational at village level. Working under the local veterinary officers, nearly 36,000 LLLWs will be appointed in four years.
