New Delhi: Public Works Department on Wednesday told National Green Tribunal that no tree has been cut by it or its contractor for a road widening project on the Andheria Mod-Mahipalpur Road.

The project was stopped in February after residents approached the court against the reported unauthorized felling of trees by PWD.

Ficuscutulata, locally known as chhotabargad located at RariGhat road of Pachmarhi in Madhya Pradesh is the last surviving endemic tree of ficus species in the state.
