Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of In re: News item published on 21.11.2021 in the Indian Express titled “Lakes of Bengaluru : Industrial effluents, raw sewage; stinky tale of Chandrapura lake” dated March 29, 2022. The matter related to damage to the Chandrapura lake and failure of statutory regulators to take remedial action. The media report mentions that the buffer zone of the lake has been encroached upon and waste is being dumped into the lake. It is choked by encroachments and affected by effluents and waste.

National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), was launched by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) in 2019, with the target to reduce particulate matter concentration level by 20-30% in several non-attainment cities in India. These non-attainment cities do not meet the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of H. P. Ranjanna Vs Union of India & Others dated 30/07/2021. The matter related to construction activities around the wetland area in Bengaluru, Karnataka - the city had a large number of lakes, but there is substantial extinction/disappearance due to encroachment, reclamation in the name of development.

The issue of ecological damage to the area between two lakes namely Kaikondarahalli Lake and Kasavanahalli Lake was taken by the NGT.
