The Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Faridkot, on orders of the Deputy Commissioner, Faridkot, today went to the Baba Farid Centre for Special Children and forcibly cut hair of children who cannot speak. The CMO, along with a team of doctors, was at the centre to take blood and hair samples of children.

The city once again hosted the India NGO Awards ceremony instituted by The Resource Alliance and The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation. Constituted in 2006, these awards aim to promote financial and organizational sustainability of civil society.

The winners were presented with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 4 lakh.
