Cycling to work may seem the healthy option, but a study has shown that people riding in cities inhale tens of millions of toxic nanoparticles with every breath, at least five times more than drivers or pedestrians.

Cycle-rickshaw is considered an economical and comfortable medium of transport for the common man in small as well as big cities. But there are 15 districts in the state where cycle-rickshaws are not prevalent either due to geographical conditions or congested population. These include such big cities as Bhopal and Indore and smaller ones like Raisen, Harda, Shajapur etc.

Not only does Commandant of the College of Military Engineering (CME), Lt Gen U S P Sinha, cycle five kilometres from home to office on Wednesdays and Saturdays, but all other officers and students of the college have been doing the same for the last two years.
