Pune: The standing committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) approved the second phase of the Bhama Askhed pipeline project.
“The Alandi municipal council and the state forest department have submitted proposals for land acquisition. The PMC has already acquired about 7 km land for the second phase which will cost Rs 72 crore. The first phase of the work has already been approved,” said Vishal Tambe, standing committee chairman on Monday.

The state, which has locked horns with Goa on sharing of Mahadayi water, is likely to file a petition before the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal (MWDT), seeking interim relief.

The Tripura government will be preparing a master plan to provide drinking water to all localities of the State.
