NEW DELHI: With the Government all set to switch over to the Euro-IV fuel standards from April 1, petrol and diesel that is to be sold in 13 big cities is likely to face another round of price hike.

Petrol and diesel prices in 13 major cities are set to go up, with the petroleum ministry considering a higher price for Euro-IV complaint fuels. This, in effect, would mean, a second price hike for consumers in less than two months.

The prices of petrol and diesel may be hiked in April as India implements Euro IV-compliant fuel to cut emissions.

NEW DELHI: Dispelling speculation about lack of preparedness on the part of the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry to adhere to the deadline on the introduction of new fuel norm, Petroleum Secretary S. Sundereshan on Friday asserted that oil marketing companies (OMCs) were all geared to roll out the Euro-IV standard fuel across 13 metros.

CHENNAI Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has successfully installed Diesel Hydotreating (DHDT) reactor, at its Manali refinery to produce clean diesel, meeting the Euro-IV specifications as per the auto fuel policy of the Centre.
