Fluoride takes part in a number of geochemical and biochemical reactions. The activity of the fluoride thus makes the ion non conservative in many occations, though the ion is included in the major ions category. Preferential enrichment of fluoride is a general observations in the coastal and estuarine environment.

Toothpastes contain a number of chemicals that carry out its essential functions

Fluoride concentration in rocks and soil are well documented, but data on the F concentration in coal are limited. In present paper, fluoride were monitored in rain water during rainy season at 7 location of Singrauli region in 2004.

This report presents the environmental profiles of metropolitan cities and problem areas identified by CPCB and their groundwater quality status. The groundwater quality data obtained during survey were evaluated against drinking water quality requirements [BIS 10500, (1991) & WHO (1996) Standards]. Salinity, nitrate, Coliform & Fluoride are the main water quality issues in the metro cities and problem areas of the country.

This paper deals with studies on the removal of fluoride by using bark of drumstick and its leaves. The above said adsorbents are effective defluoridating agents and therefore used in the diet through cooked leaves and its vegetables. 2007

This paper deals with a comparative study on the fluoride removal capacity of readily and cheaply available five kinds of materials-calcium, phosphate, magnesium and magnesium carbonate. Among these materials aluminium phosphate is the most efficient defluoridating agent. 2007

Increased incidences of fluoride concentration in groundwater and its impact on human health, was initiated to determine groundwater fluoride concentration in East Imphal District of Manipur.

The present work aims to study the level of fluoride in bore well, open well, and in handpump water samples of different places of Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, and also to analyse other water quality parameters, like pH, electrical conductivity, turbidity, acidity, alkalinity, total solids, chlorides, iron, sodium, potassium, fluorides and total hardness.

The present study deals with the physico-chemical parameters of ground water quality in Mundargi taluk of Gadag district, Karnataka state, the study has been carried out during September 2003.

Jabalpur is a fluorosis endemic district, falls in the central part of Madhya Pradesh. Many of the people in this area are suffering from large scale fluorosis. By analyzing the last eleven years data, the researchers tried to study the resource profile that enhances the fluoride contamination in the area under reference.
