The wanton depletion of water table in the Verna Industrial Estate due to digging of bore wells may have an answer in the rainwater harvesting and ground water recharge project for which a multi-disciplinary team has identified around 20 scientifically identified sites within the estate.

The Haryana State Flood Control Board on Wednesday approved 66 schemes to be implemented by the Irrigation Department and 20 schemes by the Public Health Engineering Department.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda directed that the schemes be implemented district-wise. He also emphasised the need for focusing on construction of water bodies to harness water and recharge the water table.
