MoEF cancels seven HEPs in North Sikkim

In view of the observation of Carrying Capacity Study of Teesta Basin as ecologically sensitive North Sikkim, Ministry of Environment and Forests have decided that projects above Chungthang area should not be considered for construction of dams and large scale developmental activities.

S Korea pledges Rs 3.54 billion loan for Chameliya hydropower

The South Korean government Thursday pledged a loan of Rs 3.54 billion to Nepal for the construction of the Chameliya hydro project.
The agreement regarding the hydropower project was made at the Ministry of Finance today.
