KOCHI: A cycle rally was taken out as a part of the observance of the World Green Building Week organised by the Cochin chapter of the Indian Green Building Council.

Around 300 students from the NSS wing of Calicut University and the Energy Conservation Society reached Kochi on Monday as a part of their six-day cycle rally that will reach Thiruvananthapuram on September 22.

ALUVA: The presence of an enormous number of worms in the Periyar near the Sivarathri Manalpuram has spread panic among the people since Wednesday evening. The earthworm-like reddish worm is 10 centimetres long.

DMRC Chairman E Sreedharan said that the Urban Development Ministry would submit a renewed project report to the Planning Commission with an esccalated cost of `5,000 crore.Sreedharan said this after meeting Union Minister of State for Agriculture K V Thomas.
