PANJIM: There are indications that the process of drafting the mining policy will begin after June 15 and be ready by the commencement of the new mining season.

Several mines have begun shutting down their operations for the season as the monsoons have arrived in the state. The mining industry can now export only lumpy ore, while fines will have to be stacked in dry places.
