Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Tribunal on its own Motion Vs. Union of India. The proceedings were initiated on an allegation of severe pollution of river Churni passing through Nadia district in the State of West Bengal. The untreated effluents from factories were being released into river Mathabhanga which was joining river Churni. The discharge was also taking place in Bangladesh from where the river is coming.

The matter relates to two writ petitions filed before the High Court of Delhi which were transferred to NGT. One petition was filed by Mr. Satish Kumar resident of village Mundka, New Delhi alleging environment pollution caused by burning of plastic, leather, rubber, motor engine oil and other waste materials and continuous operation of illegal industrial units dealing with such articles on agricultural lands in village Mundka, New Delhi.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vardhaman Kaushik Vs. Union of India dated 08/05/2018 regarding garbage being set on fire leading to air pollution, Janakpuri, Delhi, 08/05/2018. Abmber Sachdvea the Applicant has been permitted to file the photographs in the Registry and such filing the Registry will issue Notice enclosing the photographs to the NCT of Delhi and SDMC to file their response.
