Nepali Congress (NC) Central Office Monday organised a tree plantation ceremony to mark the 26th remembrance day of the party's founding leader late BP Koirala.
On the occasion, NC central leaders and party cadres planted diverse kinds of plants along the Bagmati river banks at Balkhu.

The participants discussed the contribution of late Koirala in the Nepali politics.

NEW DELHI: The Power Trading Corporation (PTC) and Australian company Snowy Mountain Corporation have initialled a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Asian Development Bank-promoted 750 MW West Seti Hydroelectric Power Project in Nepal.

- Following its lackluster performance, the Government of Nepal and World Bank (WB) have restructured the Power Development Fund (PDF).
PDF will no longer exclusively invest in small and medium power projects as it was initially supposed to do. The Fund is currently studying areas in which it can most effectively invest to promote hydropower development.

Transportation workers of Butwal, Rupandehi district seized two tankers from the regional office of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) at Bhairahawa and distributed it to entrepreneurs at the existing rate on Sunday. They resorted to such an action saying that shortage of petroleum goods was creating hand-to-mouth problem. The workers affiliated to All Nepal Transportation Workers Union, Rupandehi, brought the tankers at local Durga Diesels at Bhairahawa and gave the fuel away to entrepreneurs.

Floods and landslide triggered by incessant rains claimed lives and wreaked havoc at various places in the country in the past two days. So far four people have been killed and property worth million of rupees damaged in floods and landslide that hit mid-western Salyan, Gulmi, Jajarkot and Nawalparasi districts. People were also displaced at some places due to the natural calamity. The Kathmandu Post reported that Purna Bahadur BK and Rudri Pun of Bame VDC of Salyan district were killed on the spot and another sustained injuries in a landslide on Saturday.
