The matter related to damage to the Chandrapura lake and failure of statutory regulators to take remedial action. The media report mentions that the buffer zone of the lake has been encroached upon and waste is being dumped into the lake. It is choked by encroachments and affected by effluents and waste.

Report filed by the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board in the matter of Manoj Kumar Rai Vs State of Uttar Pradesh, 24/03/2022. The matter related to discharge of sewage and solid waste into Katahal drain connected to river Ganga, Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh.

The NGT, January 4, 2022 directed the constitution of five member joint committee to look into the matter and take remedial action to ensure that no untreated sewage and waste goes into river Ganga and erring officers be made accountable for failures, if any found.

Grievance in the application is against failure to take remedial action for protecting Ashtamudi wetland and Vambanad-Kol wetland, a Ramsar site in Kollam district of Kerala. Wetland has become polluted due to dumping of pharmaceutical waste, plastic waste, domestic waste, slaughter-house waste and numerous other sources.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of News item published in The Indian Express dated 29.12.2021 titled “The road to rediscovery of Kham, the seasonal river of Aurangabad” dated 28/02/2022.

The matter is related to the pollution of Kham river, Aurangabad, Maharashtra which is polluted by untreated discharge of sewage. The pollution is affecting the farmers who have to use the polluted water for irrigation.

The matter related to remedial action on the contamination of water bodies and groundwater, specially Ramgarh lake, Ami river, Rapti river and Rohini river in and around district Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
