The assessment of the status of tigers, co-predators and their prey 2014 using the refined methodology has shown a countrywide 30% increase in tiger numbers with an estimated number of 2226 (range 1945-2491) as compared to 2010 estimation of 1706 (range 1520-1909 tigers). Question raised in Lok Sabha on Erosion of Coastal Areas, 01/03/2016. Under the promotional measures, the Ministry is operating a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for Conservation and Management of Mangroves of India since 1987-88. Under the Scheme, the Ministry provides 100% (upto 2014-15 and in 60:40 central and state share from 2015-16 onwards) Central Assistance for the implementation of approved Management Action Plans (MAPs) for mangroves. The Government has identified 38 mangrove sites along coastal areas for implementation of MAP.

Memorandums seeking financial assistance in the wake of drought under NDRF were received from 7 States during 2012-13, from 3 States during 2013-14, from 5 States during 2014-15 and from 10 states during 2015-16. State-wise details of farmers covered during last one year (i.e. 2014-15) under various crops insurance schemes including National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (NAIS) is at Annexure. National Crop Insurance Scheme (NCIP) envisages coverage of Food Crops (Cereals, Millets & Pulses), Oilseeds and Annual Commercial/Horticultural Crops for which past yield data based on single series of Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) & weather data for sufficient past years is available.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Assessment of Air Pollution, 01/03/2016. The ambient air quality is being regularly monitored in Delhi by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in association with Delhi Pollution Control Committee and National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) under the National Air Monitoring Programme (NAMP). The monitoring is being done in respect of Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and Particulate Matter less than or equal to 10 micron (PM10) in Delhi at ten locations.
