Reply affidavit filed on behalf of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in the matter of Pentapati Pullarao Vs Union of India & Others, 31/08/2021.

The report said that M/s Indira Sagar (Polavaram) multipurpose project, is an irrigation project located in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh and obtained Environmental Clearance, October 25, 2005 and modified, March 9, 2009. The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) issued Consent to Establish (CTE) to the project, October 18, 2005.

In the case Srisailam Dam project, the reservoir’s quantity has seriously depleted on account of use of water therefrom for generation of power in Telangana and this fact has been established from the daily readings submitted by authorities of that Dam.

Committee report in compliance to the National Green Tribunal order on illegal shrimp farms in Pittivanipalli, Padarthivari Kandriga and Ranganathapuram village of Chittamur mandal, Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh.

Joint Committee report in the matter of Dr. Lubna Sarwath Vs State of Telangana & Others dated 09/06/2021 regarding measures taken for mitigating pollution in Hussain Sagar lake.

The Joint Committee has requested the NGT to issue directions to the concerned departments for submitting a time bound action plan to comply with the recommendations of the committee to improve the water quality of the Hussain Sagar lake.

Reply to the Joint Committee Report on behalf of the Applicant in OA 91 OF 2020 (SZ) (Venkatapathi Raja Yenumula  Vs Union of India & Others). The matter is related to illegal aquaculture and beach sand mining in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

The NGT, July 1, 2021 had directed for the constitution of a 6 member joint committee to conduct inspections on the allegations raised by the applicant (Venkatapathi Raja Yenumula).

The applicant has raised objections to the report of the Joint Inspection Committee, some of which are the following:

Order of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Amravati dated 07/06/2021. The matter related to drugs for treating black fungus cases in Andhra Pradesh.

The court said that the drug (Liposomal Amphotericin B) allocated by the Union of India to Andhra Pradesh is not sufficient to treat the patients of black fungus.

Response to the report of the Joint Committee on behalf of the applicants in the matter of E.A.S. Sarma & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 13/04/2021. The matter related to illegal dredging and discharge of dredge spoil into the mangroves in violation of CRZ Notification of 2011 and 2018 in Kakinada Bay, Andhra Pradesh.

Joint inspection report of Committee constituted by the National Green Tribunal, Southern Bench, Chennai in pursuance to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order, September 8, 2020 in the matter of Venkatapathi Raja Yenumala Vs Union of India & Others). An application was filed before the NGT, Southern Bench, alleging air, sound, soil and water pollution caused on account of activities by M/s GAIL India Ltd and M/s ONGC units in Andhra Pradesh along the Krishna-Godavari (KG) basin located in East Godavari and West Godavari districts.
