Asian Development Bank (ADB) today said it will provide USD 150 million loan to Petronet LNG Ltd to part finance expansion of its Dahej LNG import terminal in Gujarat. Petronet, the nation's largest importer of gas in its liquid form (liquefied natural gas or LNG), is expanding its 10 million tonne per annum Dahej terminal to 15 million tonnes at an estimated cost of about Rs 2,950 crore by end 2016.

The Gujarat high court on Monday asked the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to state on affidavit about its stand where the ceramic industrial units could function on modified coal-based gasifiers, which could bring down pollution level.

The court sought explanation from CPCB on its communiqué to Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) on October 11, 2012, that the ceramic units mitted could be perrun on coal furnaces provided that they modified it to bring the pollution level down to zero discharge.
