The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Tuesday cleared the decks for registration of 10 new diesel vehicles of Delhi Fire department which are conforming to BS-IV emission norms.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vardhaman Kaushik Vs. Union of India & Ors. dated 02/08/2016. This application was filed on behalf of the Fire Department, NCT of Delhi on the ground that Fire Department has already condemned 66 diesel vehicles which are more than 10 years old and for maintaining the effectiveness of fire fighting system in Delhi they have purchased 10 new vehicles of BS-IV compliance.

It is further stated in the market no fire fighting equipments vehicles are available so far, which have any other source of energy except diesel.
