I AM persuaded to conclude that all efforts by the authorities to end milk adulteration have come a cropper. When milkmen see milk and water side by side they irresistibly itch to mix them. They add water to the milk on the sly, yet have the temerity to vouch for its purity.
There was a time, when milk shortage plagued Mumbai and plentiful supply was a far cry.
